Biography - Raza Kazmi

Raza

Raza Kazmi is presently a Vice President, Business Development, of Aviation Fuel Solutions Inc., an aviation consulting company based on the south-shore of Montreal, Canada.

Formerly, Raza was a principal Senior Business Planning Analyst at Pratt & Whitley Canada in the area of Turbine Engines R&O serving aviation industry. He was responsible as Project Manager for establishing strategic sales business plans for current and future business of Sales & Marketing. His responsibility included PWC Network Service Centres performance reports analysis pertinent to R&O inputs and summary reports to VP of Service Centres. In 1996, Raza was a key member of a strategic business planning team with a mandate of increasing R&O business from half a billion dollars to one billion-dollar mark, on target, by 2001. He was instrumental in establishing Full TBO workmanship warranty of O&R turbine engines as an industry trade mark. Raza established a Work Content Unit (WCU) system to accurately forecast shop loading in terms of hours and dollar value, resulting in accurate budgeting, shop planning and reduced inventory levels. He was responsible for capital investment analysis and feasibility of new projects. He was in charge of Service Centre labour pricing, cost temples, customer quote temples and Global Sales Network (GSN) database.

Previously Raza was a Customer Service Account Manager directing all the customer related activities in R&O business such as commercial, financial and technical. He was responsible for R&O sales negotiations, technical applicability, contractual and warranty issues. He was a Kiazan process team member and Co-Chair on various improvement projects such as new sales specifications, shop turn-around and efficiency management. Raza also worked in PWC Service Centre Engineering for many years as a Senior Engineering Tech. He was responsible for commuter aircraft and helicopter turbine engines performance after repair and overhaul. He worked on repair development projects of engine components and Operations Methods. He represented Service Centre Engineering in new engine integrated design teams in fuel efficient engine designs and developments.

Raza worked in Quality Control on new jet turbine engine components. He managed Total Process Control (TPC) of machine shop process and QA procedures as well as Statistical Process Control (SPC).

He is a quality engineer by training, holding a diploma in Quality Control and various courses from Canadian universities and colleges. He is a Bachelor of Sciences. He had completed an ASTM course on Aviation Fuels Specifications and Test Methods. Other diplomas include in Management from Champlain College in Canada. Specialized diplomas include Business Management, Technical Writing, Sales Negotiations, and Proposal Writing, Statistical Analysis and Information Technology as well as many certificates in Turbine Engines Maintenance from PWC training centre.
